Welcome to The Surrey Studio
My name is Michelle and I’m a creator and maker based in the beautiful Surrey Hills, in the wonderful village of Chiddingfold. I design stationery & gift items which make unique presents to be used and treasured. I love to experiment with a diverse range of media which stretches and stimulates my creative capabilities and results in a wide range of evolving products and designs. Nature is my main inspiration and living in the beautiful British countryside provides a wealth of ideas for my designs.
I’ve worked in Marketing for most of my professional career including 10 years at Dulux marketing colour which is where I think my passion for colourful fabrics and patterns originates. Spending time working for a design agency refined my eye for detail and fuelled my imagination. A magpie at heart, I love to rescue and re-use materials when I create my collections and draw inspiration from the past. My business was founded during the pandemic when I re-kindled my creative capabilities, as a way to practice mindfulness & find happiness during the challenging times of home-schooling, raising 2 Generation Z children and living through lockdown.
I've bought many unique cards and gifts for friends from Michelle. I love the workmanship that goes into each item and that every piece is unique & individual.

We offer a wide range of artisan greetings cards, stationery and hand sewn gifts. Everything is made to order in our Surrey Hills base and is beautifully & securely packed to reach you in pristine condition. Most of our printed designs can be customised with the most appropriate greeting or personalisation or just left blank to suit your needs. Our cards are printed on high quality card stock using premium grade ink to create a premium look and feel. We also undertake commissions, so please contact us directly if you cannot see what you would ideally like and we will do our best to help.
